So I have a terrible problem… my brain sends out words a lot faster than my fingers can type them (and I’m a pretty quick typist). I often mistype words and end up doing a few rounds of edits on my work to make sure that I catch all of the typos.
Enter Grammarly. It even finds the typos that my word processing program’s spell checker misses!
There is a Grammarly add-in for MS Office that, according to their website, catches 10 times more errors than Microsoft Word. If you don’t use the MS Office suite of products, you can also download Grammarly for Windows. It opens a separate application so that you can simply drag and drop your document to check it for errors.
My favorite Grammarly product is the browser extension. When I’m typing emails or doing any type of online work, Grammarly is silently working in the background to find my mistakes. I like having that peace of mind.
If you prefer typing on the go, Grammarly Keyboard will check your texts, tweets, and emails on your mobile device. Simply download the app and go!
There is even a premium version available for a fee that will alert you to punctuation mistakes, offer you vocabulary suggestions, and even alert you to plagiarism within your writing.
I’ve not had a need to subscribe to the premium version yet, but I know that if I did I would be just as pleased with the service.
If you are like me and think faster than you type, you should seriously consider downloading one of the Grammarly products. You won’t regret it.
